ASELSAN, which won the first place in the "Turkey's Top 250 Companies with the Highest R&D Expenditure" research in 2021, is in an important position in R&D studies in our country's defense industry with its qualified, strong and agile staff consisting of more than 5000 R&D personnel. There are eight ASELSAN R&D Centers in different campuses, and extensive R&D activities are carried out with the infrastructure facilities in these centers.
Our Research Center, which is one of these R&D centers, continues its basic research studies on advanced and groundbreaking technologies in a wide area ranging from artificial intelligence to autonomy, from photonics to metamaterials, from biodefense to quantum technologies, in order to carry our country and ASELSAN forward with the aim of "Direction of Technology".

According to the research "R&D 250, Top R&D Spending Companies in Turkey" published by Turkishtime in 2021, the company with the highest R&D Spend in 2020 was ASELSAN with 3,356,327,355 TL. According to the results of the same research, ASELSAN became the leader of Turkey and the champion of R&D 250 with 1117 female personnel employed in the R&D Center. With 5,264 undergraduate and graduate experts working in R&D, the company has been seen to be at the top in expert human resources, just as it is in expenditures. Another remarkable feature of ASELSAN is that the second company after it has nearly twice as many undergraduate and graduate personnel.
